Famous names confirmed to play celebrity edition of The Circle for Stand Up To Cancer

A cast of famous faces will be competing in a week-long celebrity edition of The Circle in aid of Stand Up To Cancer in 2021

As previously announced, The Circle will be back for a double helping of gameplay next year as the reality competition series returns for an all-celeb series to raise funds for Stand Up to Cancer plus the third outing of the main series on Channel 4.

The showbiz names moving in to the most talked about apartment block in Britain to take on the game where anyone can be anyone are:

  • Baga Chipz
  • Charlotte Crosby
  • Denise van Outen
  • Duncan James
  • Lady Leshurr
  • Saffron Barker

And playing the game as double acts controlling one profile are:

  • Kaye Adams and Nadia Sawalha
  • Rickie Haywood-Williams and Melvin Odoom
  • Sam Thompson and Pete Wicks

With some of the celebs playing as themselves and others taking on a celebrity catfish persona, this edition of the game will see suspicions heightened and gameplaying galore as the celebs compete for the title of most popular player.

The six-part celebrity series will air early next year ahead of Series 3 of The Circle, which will once again see a batch of players compete in the game of popularity for a potential £100k prize. Emma Willis returns as host, delivering the players some surprise alerts along the way, and comedian Sophie Willan resumes her role as the unmistakable voiceover of each episode.

The series is in aid of Stand Up To Cancer, a joint national fundraising campaign from Cancer Research UK and Channel 4 that brings the UK together to speed up progress in life-saving research.

The Circle Series 3 and Celebrity Circle for Stand Up To Cancer are commissioned for Channel 4 by Gilly Greenslade, Commissioning Editor for Factual Entertainment, Vivienne Molokwu, Commissioning Editor for Features & Formats, and Kelly Webb Lamb, Deputy Director of Programmes and Head of Popular Factual. The series is executive produced by Sarah Fay, Tim Harcourt, Oliver Head and Toni Ireland for Studio Lambert North and Martin Oxley for Motion Content Group.

Celebrity Circle for Stand Up To Cancer and The Circle Series 3 were recorded earlier this year in line with Covid-19 filming guidelines.

In 2018 The Circle was the biggest new original commission launch since 2012, with over 10 million views on All 4.  Series two averaged 1.2m/8.7% across its 22-episode duration on Channel 4, up 36% share on the slot average. The series achieved 26% share of 16-34s, making it Channel 4’s highest rating 10pm series for young viewers since 2010 at the time of TX. Across series one and two The Circle has reached 25% of the UK (15 million viewers) and 28% / 4 million 16-34s.
